I believe this issue is caused by the fact that Google Drive is treated as a networked drive. With Google Backup and Sync it was pretty cut and dry when a file was offline.īut with the new Drive app when I'm offline, files that are supposedly offline/downloaded won't open (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and I get a range of error messages saying they are corrupt or incompatible. I use the Stream Files option because I don't have room for all of my Google Drive files on my hard drive. Even the fact that it's just called Google Drive makes it hard to find support info compared to when it had the unique name Backup and Sync.
